Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough interviews and evaluations with patients and their families to assess social, emotional, and economic factors that may hinder their recovery process.

• Utilize a range of trauma-informed therapeutic techniques in individual therapy sessions, addressing needs related to substance use disorders and mental health crises.

• Research and advocate for community resources, such as healthcare services, housing assistance, and nutritional support, to empower clients and enhance their overall well-being.

• Respond effectively to crisis situations, including instances of child abuse and acute mental health emergencies, ensuring that clients receive timely and appropriate interventions.

• Follow up with clients regularly to monitor their progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support during challenging life transitions.

• Help clients navigate significant life changes, such as illness, relationship breakdowns, or unemployment, facilitating their adjustment and overall resilience.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse clientele, including individuals recovering from substance use disorders and trauma. Our patients often face complex challenges that require a multifaceted approach to care. Engaging with clients who may have past experiences with trauma or varying degrees of mental health concerns, your role is crucial in helping them rediscover their strengths and build a pathway toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• A valid LCSW license to practice in Pennsylvania.

• At least two years of experience providing mental health services, preferably within a health-related setting.

• Demonstrated experience working with Veterans is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Department of Mental Health billing systems and associated paperwork requirements.

• Skills in parent-child intervention and a strong understanding of normal child development, parenting dynamics, and issues such as child abuse and neglect.

• Effective verbal communication skills, enabling you to counsel and advise clients successfully.
