Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the role of Psychological Assistant/Staff Psychologist/Senior Staff Psychologist within the Student Wellness – Student Counseling and Psychology department (R0149759). This full‑time, 12‑month position is housed in CAPS, a multidisciplinary, IACS‑Accredited center dedicated to serving a diverse student population. Role of the Position CAPS provides an integrated service model that includes the Student Health Center, Care Center, Wellness Education and Health Promotion, Disability Resource Center, Military and Veteran Services, and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The position offers opportunities for growth through a Doctoral Psychology Internship Program, an active practicum training program, and supervision of doctoral interns and graduate trainees. General Responsibilities Time‑effective psychotherapy (individual, couples and group), crisis assessment and intervention, consultation, outreach programming to the university community, supervision of doctoral interns and graduate trainees, and participation on divisional and university committees. Minimum Qualifications Psychological Assistant : Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from a regionally accredited institution; demonstrated experience and training in general‑ist counseling; must attain licensure as a psychologist in Nevada within 14 months of hire for post‑doctoral candidates and within 24 months for new doctoral graduates. Staff Psychologist : Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology; demonstrated experience and training in general‑ist counseling; independent practice licensure required and must be obtained in Nevada prior to employment. Senior Staff Psychologist : Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology; demonstrated experience and training in general‑ist counseling; independent practice licensure required in Nevada prior to employment; at least 5 years of licensed clinical work experience as a psychologist. All candidates should have strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills, supervision and training experience, proficiency in brief therapy and group counseling, a collaborative approach, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preference is given to candidates with university counseling center experience, completion of an APA‑accredited graduate program or internship program, and a successful background screening. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Salary Range Competitive with similar positions at comparable institutions. Minimum salaries: Psychological Assistant $81,000; Staff Psychologist $105,253; Senior Staff Psychologist $120,000.
