EHS Specialist

Job Description Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a skilled EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist with in‑depth plant‑level experience in the prefabrication manufacturing industries. This role will support operations in Surprise, AZ. The successful candidate will support the implementation and maintenance of the safety program and promote a culture of safety. The ideal candidate must be a self‑starter who takes initiative and demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying hazards, conducting safety training, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to reduce risks in a manufacturing environment. This position is based at a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Some office work is required for documentation and training preparation. Occasional travel may be necessary for training or other business‑related purposes. Duties and Responsibilities Safety Program Management: Assist in implementing and monitoring safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to general industry manufacturing operations (e.g., onboarding, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, hazard communication). Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, NPFA, and company safety protocols via regular inspections. Risk Assessment: Identify workplace hazards through inspections, job hazard analyses, and employee feedback; recommend corrective actions. Training: Deliver safety training sessions on PPE, emergency response, and equipment operation. Incident Investigation: Participate in investigations, compile reports, analyze root causes, recommend preventive actions, and transport team members for non‑emergency care. Data Analysis: Track site‑specific safety metrics (incident rates, training completion) and prepare management reports. Emergency Preparedness: Maintain response plans, conduct drills, ensure availability of safety equipment. Collaboration: Work with supervisors, maintenance, and employees to integrate safety practices; may collaborate with peer groups. Problem Solving: Support resolution of complex problems not covered by existing procedures. Other Responsibilities Conduct regular facility walkthroughs involving prolonged standing, walking, and site movement. Occasionally climb ladders, scaffolding, or stairs to access elevated areas. Inspect confined spaces and hard‑to‑reach areas as needed. Remain stationary for extended periods during meetings, training, or documentation. Identify and respond to safety hazards using visual, auditory, and verbal cues. Lift and carry safety equipment or signage (up to 40 lbs). Wear all required PPE (helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, protective footwear). Respond effectively to emergencies, including evacuations and incident support. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent communication and training skills, engaging employees at all levels and facilitating large group sessions. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Safety‑conscious and compliance‑driven mindset. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Education and Experience Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety (or equivalent experience). 2‑4 years of experience in a safety role in manufacturing or a similar industrial setting. Knowledge of OSHA general industry regulations and industry standards. OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry certification preferred; additional credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
