Job Description
Operating Room Nurse

Schedule

This position includes rotating shifts of PM 4 × 10 hour shifts. Call and weekend shifts are required, with a potential for up to 3 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse will work in a Level 1 Trauma facility, providing high-quality patient care in the operating room. The role requires strong proficiency in various surgical specialties, with a focus on general, orthopedic (total joints), neuro (cranial and spine), vascular, trauma, and robotic surgeries (DaVinci system, including cardiac procedures).

Responsibilities

• Assist in various surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Participate in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment.
• Manage surgical instruments and supplies effectively.
• Adhere to sterile technique and infection control policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the operating room, with preference for 3 years.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Level 1 Trauma center.
• A minimum of 1 year of travel experience within the last 3 years.
• Strong expertise in general, orthopedic (total joints), neuro, vascular, trauma, and robotics (DaVinci, including cardiac procedures).
