A Day in the Life:

The Senior Delivery Manager will play a key role on the client engagement team, overseeing multiple delivery workstreams and ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role will coordinate delivery across two Java pods, sequence the harness build against both teams, and maintain clear reporting for client stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings experience managing complex technology engagements, strong financial and delivery discipline, and the ability to keep multiple teams aligned in a fast-paced consulting environment.

• Multi-Workstream Delivery: Manage multiple concurrent delivery workstreams, coordinating dependencies, priorities, timelines, and resources across two Java development pods.
• Delivery Sequencing: Own the sequencing of the harness build against both Java pods, ensuring the work is appropriately planned, integrated, and aligned with broader engagement milestones.
• Fixed-Fee Management: Track delivery progress against fixed-fee scope, budget, milestones, and assumptions, proactively identifying and escalating risks that could affect financial performance or delivery commitments.
• Client Reporting: Own client-facing reporting, providing clear and consistent updates on progress, milestones, financials, risks, dependencies, and decisions needed.
• Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, serving as a trusted delivery partner and maintaining alignment on priorities and expectations.
• Project Management: Manage the delivery lifecycle, including planning, estimation, resource coordination, execution, status reporting, and closure.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with client stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance teams to develop delivery plans, coordinate dependencies, and resolve issues.
• Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage delivery risks, blockers, scope changes, and cross-team dependencies, escalating concerns with clear recommendations when appropriate.
• Team Coordination: Establish clear expectations and accountability across the delivery teams while supporting effective communication and collaboration.
• Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives and identify practical opportunities to improve delivery processes, team efficiency, and client outcomes.

What it takes:

• Experience: Significant experience in IT services, technology consulting, project management, or solution delivery, including responsibility for complex client engagements.
• Multi-Workstream Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, coordinate dependencies, and maintain alignment across delivery teams.
• Fixed-Fee Delivery: Experience managing fixed-fee engagements, including tracking scope, milestones, budget, resource utilization, and financial performance.
• Technical Delivery: Experience working with software engineering teams and enough technical understanding to coordinate delivery plans, challenge assumptions, and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders. Experience supporting Java development teams is preferred.
• Client Reporting: Proven experience developing and presenting client-facing status reports that clearly communicate progress, financials, risks, dependencies, and required decisions.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex delivery challenges into clear action plans.
• AI Adoption: Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance daily work, or a strong desire to do so, including a willingness to experiment, learn, and champion AI adoption within your role.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong client and team relationships.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain alignment across multiple groups.
• Adaptability: Self-directed, flexible, and dependable, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
