About the Role

The Company is in need of an Interim VP of Accounting to take on a high-impact, immediate project within a 3-to-6-month engagement. The successful candidate will be a seasoned financial leader with a strong background in nonprofit accounting, particularly within a complex, global environment. This role is pivotal, as it involves providing strategic direction over the general ledger, month/quarter/year-end close, and treasury functions. The Interim VP of Accounting will also be responsible for ensuring impeccable compliance with nonprofit regulations, translating complex financial data into actionable insights, and leading a talented team in driving the strategic integrity of financial operations. Applicants for the Interim VP of Accounting position at the company must have an active CPA and a minimum of 15 years' of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years' in public accounting and 5 years' in a leadership role. The role requires a deep knowledge of US GAAP, donor/grant compliance, and nonprofit ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing the accounting function, financial reporting, treasury, and audits, and will be adept at mentoring a high-performing finance team while championing continuous process improvements. The position demands a professional who can work closely with the CFO and executive board, and who is adept at translating financial data into strategic insights.
