*Location:* Pasadena, CA
*Pay:* $21-23/hour
*Work Environment* Busy outpatient physical therapy clinic with a high-volume, patient-facing front desk. Business casual dress code. Fully on-site role.
*Schedule* 5 days/week rotating schedule: 2 days: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 3 days: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

*About the Role*
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Patient Services Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, supporting patient scheduling, verifying insurance, and ensuring a positive patient experience from check-in through check-out.
*Key Responsibilities*
Greet patients warmly with professionalism and positive communication; Register new patients and guide them through onboarding paperwork; Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations; Collect co-pays and manage financial interactions; Schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments; Answer phones, manage voicemails, and address patient inquiries; Maintain accurate patient demographics in EMR systems; Support end-of-day reconciliation and ensure accurate charge entry; Deliver excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone.
*Required Skills & Experience*
Minimum 1+ year of experience in a medical front desk or healthcare setting; Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes; Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment; Excellent communication and customer service skills; Strong computer proficiency and comfort working in EMR systems.
*Top Skills - Must Haves:*
Medical front desk experience; Customer service in a high-volume environment; Insurance verification & authorizations; Patient scheduling and check-in/out; Co-pay collection; EMR systems experience.
*Nice to Have Skills:*
Bilingual Spanish/English; Experience in outpatient or physical therapy clinics; Familiarity with Therapy Source or Rehab Toolkit.
*Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
