Medical Assistant LeadThe Medical Assistant Lead provides individualized, medical care of assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. A Medical Assistant Lead is capable of performing all aspects of a Medical Assistant role. Additionally, the Medical Assistant Lead proactively takes the initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/service line/location. The Medical Assistant Lead serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance and training as needed.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Surgery scheduling will also be part of this position. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
