Assistant Project Manager

Role Description

This is a position seeking someone who is looking to develop a broad understanding of project execution, from start to end. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of a project with a primary focus on the project deliverables and team management. This person will work as part of the project team and interact closely with the owner, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades on projects in commercial and mission critical environments.

The Assistant Project Manager will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently or under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope. The Assistant Project Manager communicates and operates in line with organizational and client goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry trends, project management and construction procedures and best practices
• Knowledge of MEP / FA / FP trades and the general requirements for each
• Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using Revit
• Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
• Skilled at using project management software such as Procore
• Knowledge of the importance of the Method of Procedure (MOP) Process, work notifications and protection of IT network and other equipment during construction
• Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
• Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace
• Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
• Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
• Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
• Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
• Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Requirements

• Frequently required to remain in a stationary position
• Frequently moving through office, facility and other environments
• On occasion may move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
• Up to 15% travel, which may include travel to any or all 50 US states
