JOB SUMMARY

As Sous Chef, you’ll partner with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, develop menus, and prepare food that looks as good as it tastes. You’ll help coach hourly team members, execute catering events, and keep the kitchen organized, safe, and running smoothly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, presentation, and daily kitchen execution. Partner with the Executive Chef to create menus that balance flavor, variety, quality, and cost. Help train, coach, and support hourly culinary associates. Assist with ordering, inventory, food cost controls, and waste reduction. Plan and execute catering events with attention to presentation and service. Introduce new menus and culinary programs alongside the marketing and culinary teams. Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization. Support guest and client satisfaction through consistent food quality and responsive service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent hands‑on culinary experience. Progressive culinary experience with responsibility for kitchen operations or team leadership. Restaurant, hotel, resort, catering, or other high-volume foodservice experience welcomed. Strong cooking fundamentals and knowledge of food trends, menu development, and presentation. Experience with food production, ordering, inventory, and cost controls. Catering and large-volume food preparation experience are a plus. A hands‑on leadership style with the ability to communicate clearly and help others succeed. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and email. ServSafe certification highly desirable.
