Materials Planner

MATERIALS PLANNERSummaryThe Materials Planner schedules, establishes priorities and coordinates the flow of work and materials within the connector assembly department according to daily and weekly production schedules. Duties include scheduling and integrity of the MRP system for all assigned assemblies. Status and reporting of manufacturing build. Effective management of kit issues and fulfillment of hardware needs to support manufacturing build. Prioritization of workflow in partnership with manufacturing supervision. This position reports to Operations Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with production planning department to assess material requirements.Responsible for establishing production schedules: considering factors of customer requests and demands, existing capacity and working w/ProductionInteracts with shop floor management on a regular basis to resolve issues and achieve daily production requirementsWork with Inventory/Stockroom to fill component shortagesAnalyze and prepare documents (work instructions, travelers, etc.) needed for productionDrive to achieve established targets for revenue and on time deliveryMonitor and drive all open orders; Have detailed understanding of assigned backlogAdjust completion dates with the ERP system in real time as neededWork with Purchasing for component expedites and appropriate order quantities to ensure material availabilityPerform data analysis to support raw material supply and finished goods demand for both Cable and Stockroom.Maintains the connector production schedule and other reports as requiredTrack part requests, incoming parts and work orders.Prints Routers and Manufacturing Instructions for Connector Assembly.Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts.Assists with all/any other projects as required.Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environmentProficiency using ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.High sense of urgency and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsDetail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlinesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Perform all other duties as assigned.We are pleased to provide high-quality, competitive and comprehensive benefits for our employees.
