Area Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of multi-unit restaurant or hospitality leadership experience, ideally overseeing 4–7+ locations
• Experience in full-service and fast-casual restaurant environments preferred
• Proven ability managing P&L, labor costs, and operational KPIs to drive sales growth and profitability
• Demonstrated success in coaching and developing General Managers and leadership teams
• Strong financial acumen, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel regularly between locations within the Washington, DC market

Area Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across multiple café locations, ensuring consistent service, quality, and brand standards
• Partner with General Managers to monitor financial performance, labor management, and operational KPIs
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue, margins, and efficiency
• Coach and mentor leadership teams to build a strong leadership pipeline and encourage internal growth
• Foster an inclusive, positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement and retention
• Champion exceptional hospitality and work collaboratively to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and accessibility regulations
