Location: New York, NY Type: Full-time, On-site Benefits: Medical and dental Company Description Broome is a software provider for institutional commercial real estate investors, helping acquisitions teams and asset managers make their data AI-ready. We transform fragmented financial and property data into structured, standardized information that can drive better insights and automate key workflows. Role Description Broome is looking for an Accounting Lead to own the validation, normalization, and mapping of customer financial data. This is not a traditional corporate accounting role. You will work directly with institutional commercial real estate firms to map their data into standardized structures. You will work closely with customers, product, and engineering to turn complex real estate financial data into scalable software and automated workflows. What You'll Do Validate, clean, normalize, and map customer financial data. Review general ledgers, trial balances, operating statements, and budgets for accuracy and consistency. Identify anomalies, missing accounts, incorrect classifications, and reconciliation issues. Work directly with customers to understand their accounting structures and reporting conventions. Partner with product and engineering to translate accounting logic into automated mapping and validation workflows. Help build Broome's standardized commercial real estate accounting taxonomy. Spend significant time working in Excel and large financial datasets. Qualifications 1–5 years of experience at a leading accounting firm or in commercial real estate accounting, audit, or financial reporting. Strong understanding of general ledgers, charts of accounts, financial statements, and reconciliations. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, messy datasets. Strong analytical ability and exceptional attention to detail. High agency, strong work ethic, and willingness to dig into difficult problems. Comfortable working directly with customers and operating in a fast-moving startup environment. Especially Exciting Experience with property-level financial data. Experience with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar systems. Experience with chart-of-accounts mapping, financial data transformation, or ERP migrations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
