ACCOUNTANT Overview Join the Long Beach Community College District as an Accountant. In this role you will perform professional accounting functions across a variety of District funds and accounts, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting and supporting sound fiscal management. Responsibilities Analyze, prepare, and maintain financial records and reports for District accounts and funds. Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, monitor expenditures, and generate financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. Review and audit financial data, manage grant reimbursement processes, support general ledger and trust accounting, and participate in year‑end closing and audit activities. Coordinate with external vendors and auditors to support audits and reporting requirements. Collaborate with District departments to resolve discrepancies, interpret financial data, and ensure adherence to District policies and federal/state regulations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field. At least two years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with District policies. Familiarity with district purchasing, accounts payable, revenue, and accounts receivable processes adds an advantage.
