Waffle House is a very successful company operating over two thousand 24-hour restaurants predominantly in the southeast.We are private, debt free, profitable, and growing.We are seeking strategic leaders who have the desire for development, growth, and wealth building opportunities.At Waffle House, we only promote from within so every member of leadership started as a unit manager and we must hire our future leaders today.The ideal candidate will possess the professionalism and leadership skills it takes to build, coach, and develop a team to run a business. The levels of management are: Area Vice President – 25 - 40 units Senior Vice President - 80-120 units A college degree is not required, however for those that have a 4-year degree, we offer a $6000 annual bonus in addition to regular compensation. All unit managers receive an annual bonus of $1000 for each year of employment, up to $10,000 annually, regardless of education level. The average promotion from unit to district is approximately 2 years and is based only on performance.The actual timeline is based on the individual and can be sooner. There are great benefits working at Waffle House.Managers receive 3 - ten day paid vacations per year (30 days total), health, dental, vision, life insurance, and participation in our private stock program.Our stock is privately held, therefore does not fluctuate with the stock market and we have never had a negative return. Effective after 90 days of employment, eligibility is obtained to invest up to 10% of your income into the stock program.The company grants a stock option of approximately $18,000 to every unit manager and an additional $70,000 to every district manager.Each level of management comes with additional stock options.The company also gives managers 5% of income as stock options annually.It pays to stay at Waffle House because the stocks vest in 5 – 10 years.We are looking for career minded candidates that are interested in retiring independently wealthy. All managers are subjected to a very structured local 12-week paid training program.The training consists of teaching every job in the building as well as the systems it takes to operate a Waffle House restaurant.Unit managers are responsible for staffing, inventory control, sales, budgeting, profits and more.An ownership mentality is required to be successful.The challenge is building a team that you are proud of. The schedule is 6 days on, 2 days off.The 2 days off will rotate throughout the week.They will always be together and undisturbed.The unit manager is not responsible for the business when off because the district manager covers the unit at that time.Managers typically work 6:30am to approximately 3:30pm depending on what the business dictates.Unit managers are productive managers and are on the grill between 7am and 2pm every day.Each unit has 2 nd and 3 rd shift supervisors that run those shifts and have some managerial responsibilities, however the unit manager is responsible for the restaurant on the days they are working.At least two nights per week the unit manager will return to their unit to oversee the 3 rd shift change that occurs at 9pm.This allows opportunities for coaching, accountability, and direction for 2 nd and 3 rd shift.It is also important to have a relationship with these associates as well.All members of management and leadership work all major holidays, including our CEO.Show up is a big part of our culture and we show up for our customers and our hourly associates.Any and all holidays can still be celebrated by our team with communication and scheduling, however, show up is a big part of our culture and we show up for our customers and associates.
