Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a school social worker in a vibrant educational setting near Battle Creek, MI. This contractual role offers coverage for a maternity leave beginning in January and lasting through April, with the possibility to extend into June. The position is up to 40 hours per week, allowing you to fully engage with students and staff during the academic term.
Ideal candidates possess comprehensive knowledge in school social work, combining empathy and professionalism to guide students through academic and personal challenges. The client prefers candidates who can work onsite but is also open to those providing virtual (VOCO) services, offering flexibility based on your expertise and circumstances.
Key Qualifications:
- Full School Social Worker certification is required; credentials will be verified through the Michigan Department of Education system.
- Experience in school-based social work, supporting diverse student populations.
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Strong organizational, communication, and intervention skills.
- Comfort navigating both in-person and virtual service models.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social-emotional support and counseling to students.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents for holistic student development.
- Create intervention plans to address attendance, behavioral, or social concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and data on student progress.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and promote a positive learning environment.
