Support students’ well-being and academic success as an experienced school social worker in this dynamic contract assignment near Battle Creek, MI. This role begins in January, covering a maternity leave, and could extend through June. With up to 40 hours per week, you’ll serve as a vital resource for students, families, and staff, utilizing your expertise to foster a safe and inclusive school environment.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about making a genuine difference and adaptable to both onsite and virtual (VOCO) service delivery. Preference is given to those available in person, but remote options are being considered.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Active Michigan school social worker certification required (full certificate).
• Previous experience as a school social worker or in a similar K-12 role highly desired.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ mental health and academic achievement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Verify eligibility through the Michigan Department of Education credential search.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and support services to students facing academic, social, or behavioral challenges.
• Develop and implement intervention plans and strategies.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and community resources to promote student well-being.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP processes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
• Support a safe and respectful school climate.
