Machinist

Machine Shop Team Member

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our on-site machine shop team. Our ideal candidate will be proficient in supporting SolidWorks CAM on the machine and have hands-on experience operating HAAS CNC machines, with a preference for gantry or vertical mills. Familiarity with the GM-1 is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full programming-to-cut cycle, including CAM setup, graphics simulation, air run, and live troubleshooting at the machine.
• Mentor or train a junior programmer/machinist, working closely with our current employee who is actively learning CAM.
• Communicate clearly and patiently to facilitate tribal knowledge transfer, which is a core part of this role.
• Cut graphite or other brittle/abrasive materials, managing feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and dust management.
• Build out or establish a machine shop, including tooling procurement, workholding, organization, and workflow establishment from scratch.
• Fixture large flat stock, as our parts come from boards.
