Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You work with small components, hand tools, and precision equipment to build and place parts onto printed circuit boards (PCBs), following detailed instructions and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronic assembly of switches and related components for use in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare products.

• Handle and assemble small parts, maintaining excellent hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity throughout the process.

• Use hand tools and small precision tools to build, fasten, and adjust various component parts according to specifications.

• Gather and organize all materials and components needed for each assembly task or production run.

• Place and secure components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) with accuracy and care, following detailed work instructions.

• Inspect parts and assemblies visually and by touch to ensure quality, alignment, and proper installation.

• Maintain a clean and organized individual work station to support efficient and safe production.

• Stand and sit for extended periods as required during the shift while maintaining focus on repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.

• Follow all manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and production guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

• Meet daily production goals and quality standards while working independently and managing your own workflow.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors as needed to resolve issues and maintain smooth production flow.

• Adapt to overtime requirements, including working 3–4 hours of additional time per day when needed.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with small parts and maintain strong hand–eye dexterity in a production or assembly environment.

• Experience using hand tools and precision hand tools for assembly, repair, or similar tasks.

• Ability to place and secure components onto printed circuit boards or similar assemblies with high attention to detail.

• Capacity to stand and sit for extended periods during the shift while performing repetitive tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with structured processes and production goals.

• Willingness and ability to work significant overtime, typically 3–4 hours daily, for a total of approximately 50–60 hours per week.

• Basic familiarity with electronic assembly, soldering, or related production work (formal certification not required).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Solder certification is a plus and may enhance your contribution to the assembly process.

• Experience with pick-and-place equipment is highly valued and may lead to an adjusted pay rate.

• Prior experience as an electronic assembler or in electronic manufacturing is beneficial.

• Comfort using both hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly setting.

• Ability to work independently at your own station while remaining accountable for results.

Work Environment

You work in a manufacturing environment organized into long rows, each with approximately five work stations, creating a structured yet collaborative setting. The culture is relaxed and not overly demanding, but there is a clear expectation that you understand your tasks and deliver consistent results. You have your own station and spend time both standing and sitting throughout the day while focusing on detailed assembly work. The facility operates multiple shifts, including a first shift around 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with openness to starting at 5:30 a.m.) and a second shift from 3:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m., with substantial overtime currently available. Routine temperature checks and brief health screening questions occur upon arrival and again toward the end of the shift, supporting a safe and monitored workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.40 - $15.40/hr.
