Work Environment

Our outpatient office in Port Elizabeth is designed to foster collaboration, transparency, and professional growth. You will be working Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and develop tailored treatment plans that align with their personal rehabilitation goals.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other modalities to ensure comprehensive and effective care.
• Regularly monitor and document patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize recovery.
• Engage in collaborative care with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to create holistic care plans.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and fall prevention strategies to enhance safety at home.
• Implement safety measures within the clinic and provide fall prevention programs that specifically benefit our elderly clientele.
• Stay informed on the latest developments in physical therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
• Uphold professional and ethical standards in every aspect of your work, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your work will be with geriatric patients, many of whom are managing chronic conditions and mobility challenges. You will provide care that respects the dignity and experiences of older adults, promoting their independence and supporting their journey toward successful aging-in-place. This role is pivotal in helping them regain strength, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active State licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiar with documentation protocols within a clinical setting.
• A commitment to evidence-based practices and the implementation of the latest therapeutic techniques to enhance patient care.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• 1 or more years of clinical experience in geriatric therapy is preferred, although new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in developing and conducting fall prevention programs is advantageous but not strictly required.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
