About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to play a pivotal role in driving the growth strategy and enhancing sales capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the U.S. business development team, with a focus on new customer acquisition and revenue growth. This includes strengthening prospecting effectiveness, sales skills, and best practices, as well as establishing a culture of accountability and high performance. The role also involves leading the evolution of sales capability development, ensuring the team is adept at sustainable opportunity creation, and holding members accountable for performance objectives. The VP will be a key partner with the Chief Commercial Officer, and will be expected to have a proven track record in commercial leadership, strategic planning, and the execution of both organic and inorganic sales strategies. Applicants for the Vice President of Business Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (MBA or advanced business degree preferred) and a minimum of 10 years' of progressive sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience, with at least 5 years' in a high-performing business development team leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling warehousing solutions, closing contracts, and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies that lead to significant revenue expansion and market diversification. Experience in B2B industries such as logistics, supply chain, industrial services, and technology is essential, as is a proven track record in entering new markets and expanding commercial presence. The role requires advanced proficiency in CRM and sales management tools, as well as the ability to leverage data and technology for strategic decision-making. The VP will also be expected to travel up to 50% of the time as needed for business.
