About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development to play a pivotal role in the strategic fundraising efforts of the organization. The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior team, responsible for all fundraising and development activities, and will work closely with the President and CEO to design and implement forward-leaning strategies to sustain and grow the organization's budget. This includes stewarding relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors, as well as overseeing donor events to drive visibility and revenue. The VP of Development will also be tasked with expanding and diversifying the donor base and will be expected to provide vision, leadership, and strategy for sustainable growth across the organization. Candidates for the VP of Development position at the company should have a strong commitment to civil and human rights, with a record of at least 10 years in professional fundraising and a proven track record of success in developing and implementing comprehensive and strategic development programs. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex advocacy work into compelling donor communications, and a leader who can inspire and manage a development team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a flexible and entrepreneurial style, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in securing transformational gifts and a deep belief in the mission of the organization are essential.
