Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Observation / Step-down unit position requiring compact RN licensure and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Step-down/PCU unit within the ED Observation department of a hospital
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts weekly (0700-1930) with rotating weekends
• Float requirements include other Tele units, Ortho surgical trauma, and acuity adaptable units (patients such as insulin drips and sepsis)
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license, Single State or Compact (CO)
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required, not expiring prior to start
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Step-down/PCU experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties per state Board of Nursing standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including health teaching and counseling
• Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
• Support and promote the mission, vision, and values of the health system
• Returning staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
