Location: Hines, Illinois, 60141 Agency: Illinois Department of Human Services Job Requisition ID: 55104 Opening Date: 6/17/2026 Closing Date: 7/1/2026 Salary: Anticipated Salary (Effective 7/1/26): $6,820 - $9,875 per month ($81,840 - $118,500 per year) Position Overview The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is hiring a Social Worker III for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois. The incumbent performs highly responsible and complex social work services on an assigned unit, conducts social assessments of admitted persons, and provides intensive services to individuals with severe emotional and psycho‑social disorders. The Social Worker III serves as the designated lead worker, assists the lead psychiatrist in verifying individualized treatment plans, and documents all work in the clinical record in accordance with hospital policy and Joint Commission standards. Essential Responsibilities Perform highly responsible and complex social work services on an assigned unit. Conduct social assessments of persons admitted and provide intensive services to those with severe emotional and psycho‑social disorders. Evaluate community provider services for future placement based on the needs of individual patients. Develop treatment strategies and evaluate group, individual, and family counseling sessions. Serve as designated lead worker and assist the lead psychiatrist in implementing individualized treatment plans. Complete documentation in the clinical record in accordance with hospital policy and Joint Commission standards. Make referrals to appropriate linkage case management and assertive community teams, community agencies, intermediate care facilities, and other professionals for patients' levels of care and after‑care needs. Provide consultation to community agencies, other professionals, families, and other Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery / Division of Developmental Disabilities facilities regarding appropriate services for clients. Perform other duties as assigned or required within the scope of these duties. Conditions of Employment Physically restrain patients as necessary to prevent injury. Obtain and maintain a Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Exert up to 20 pounds of force in performing job duties. Access various work sites throughout the hospital for administrative and clinical duties. Travel in performance of job duties.
