Registered Nurse – Labor and DeliveryJob Location: 420 34th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301Facility Name: Dignity Health – Memorial HospitalContract Duration: 13 week contractShift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)Guaranteed Hours: 36/weekPosition SummaryUnder the leadership of the Unit Director, Nursing Supervisor, and/or Charge Nurse, the Staff Nurse II is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Watsonville Community Hospital.Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge.The Staff Nurse II is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume Relief Charge Nurse duty as oriented and assigned.# beds: 12 L & D and 6 triage beds (overflow area where can potentially have laboring patients--do not deliver in this area--moved to actual L&D bed)Ratios: Per ACOG Guidelines (2:1) - MUST BE COMFORTABLE TAKING 2 PATIENTS!!Certs: BLS & ACLS (MUST BE THROUGH AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), & AWHONN-AdvancedLicensure: Current CA RN LicenseDoc System: CERNER preferred but not requiredAdd'l Equipment: Pagers linked to call light system & internal spectralink phonesUnit Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit. Will also meet with the educator, as they have 3 nurses who do 'file reviews' to ensure accurate documentationNurse Aides: No nurse aides, but do have OB techs that help w/ C-sections & assist as needed with baby cares.
