Assistant, Associate or Full Professor without tenure. Fred Hutch Cancer Center and UW Pediatrics

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full‑time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT). The successful candidate will join our faculty on a 12‑month appointment (3‑year term, renewable) if Assistant Professor beginning November 2026. Compensation and Benefits This position is paid directly by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and receives no UW compensation. The selected individual will receive a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well‑being, and financial security. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi‑year appointments; Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments. Faculty with a 12‑month service period are paid for 11 months over the year, with the equivalent of one month available for paid time off. Responsibilities The selected individual is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in palliative care. The successful candidate will have clinical responsibilities on the outpatient and/or inpatient palliative care service based on the candidate’s interests and institutional need. Teaching responsibilities will include clinical oversight of fellows, informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to learners, providers and the general medical community. The balance of time will be spent in research‑related activities. At Fred Hutch, Clinician Scholars are expected to obtain externally funded research (e.g. grants, clinical trials). Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working clinically with individuals with hematologic malignancies Willingness to work at Fred Hutch’s South Lake Union, UW Montlake or other UW sites, and/or community sites Native or near native fluency in a language other than English Qualifications Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
