Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds the highest professional nursing standards. Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, the Nursing Process, and regulatory standards. Acute care departments include Medical, Surgical, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Engage in ongoing education to stay current with product and practice changes, promoting cost-effective care.
• Apply specialized knowledge to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice to enhance workplace skills and patient outcomes.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Seek professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift:

Night shift from 6:00pm to 6:00am, 36 hours weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
