System Administrator – TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph (FSP)Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Work Model: 100% Onsite Type: Direct Hire (W2) Compensation: Up to $150,000/year Schedule: 40 hours/week Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with FSPAbout the RoleWe're hiring System Administrators at multiple experience levels to support mission-critical operations in Linux-based, high-performance environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, optimizing system performance, and working closely with engineering and operations teams to keep essential infrastructure reliable and available. This team includes professionals who specialize in platform, network, and storage engineering—but everyone is expected to contribute to core Linux system administration and operational sustainment work.What You'll DoMonitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and infrastructure supporting mission operationsInstall, configure, and administer Linux operating systems and applicationsManage file systems, networking services, and system resourcesTroubleshoot operating system and application issues in complex environmentsWrite and maintain Bash scripts to automate administrative tasksCompile, install, configure, and support software applicationsSupport automation and configuration management initiativesCollaborate with engineering/operations teams to resolve issues and improve performanceDocument configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting stepsParticipate in upgrades, maintenance windows, and operational support activitiesRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI with PolygraphLinux administration experience with one or more of the following: RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, SLES, UbuntuExperience with: Linux installation/configuration, file system administration, TCP/IP networking fundamentals, OS and application troubleshooting, Bash scripting, software compilation and installationStrong analytical troubleshooting skills and ability to work both independently and on a teamNice to Have (Strongly Preferred)Exposure to or understanding of High-Performance Computing (HPC) environmentsExperience supporting large-scale enterprise or mission-critical infrastructureFamiliarity with high-speed networking such as InfiniBand and/or SlingshotTools/Platforms: Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, Git, Salt, AnsibleStorage / Networking Experience (A Plus)If you have a background in storage, networking, or infrastructure engineering, you're highly encouraged to apply.Storage technologies (preferred):Lustre configuration/administration/troubleshootingDDN Exascaler appliancesStorage fabric design/supportStorage performance tuning/optimizationNetworking technologies (preferred):Enterprise routing/switching (Cisco / Juniper / Arista)Bonus (emerging tech exposure):E1000 Storage Systems, ESNs, DAOS, WekaBenchmarking/diagnostics tools:IOR, iperf, FIO, lnet_selftestSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
