Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) will work closely with school leadership, special education staff, teachers, students, and families to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders that may impact a student's educational performance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their communication goals and succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments for referred students.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide speech and language therapy services in individual and group settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff to support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning and goal development.
• Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
• Provide consultation and training to school personnel regarding speech and language needs.
• Support school-wide initiatives focused on student achievement and growth.

Qualifications

Required Education & Licensure

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the State of Michigan.

Experience

• Experience working with K-12 students preferred.
• New graduates are welcome to apply with an active Michigan SLP License.

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• No weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• 185 contracted school days annually

Caseload

• Typical caseload is fewer than 30 students.
