Anesthesia TechnologistHours: 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM; including holidays, weekends, on-call, and callback as needed.Specific ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Assistance: Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, placing monitors, ensuring cleanliness, and ensuring availability of specialized supplies. Communicate continuously with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to meet their needs.Equipment Operation: Operate cell-saver machines, track lab reports, and participate in advanced surgical cases (e.g., cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma). Provide on-call coverage and work directly with service-specific faculty Division Chief.Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure anesthesia equipment is in optimal working order through preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting. Serve as a key resource for using and maintaining specialized equipment.Training and Development: Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs and train staff on the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologist.Technical Support: Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, and monitoring devices. Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes as needed.Room Setup: Set up operating rooms between cases and ensure proper equipment is in place for out-of-OR procedures throughout the day.Supervisory Support: Provide backup to the shift supervisor in their absence due to vacation or illness and perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBLS certificationTwo years of experience as an Anesthesia TechnologistPreferred QualificationsA four-year college education, including related technical training, or a two-year college education with technical training related to this position and two years of experience.Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or another nationally recognized professional certifying body is preferred.Behavioral CharacteristicsTwo years of experience is highly desired.BLS certification preferred (American Heart Association ONLY).Client Details Address 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642 City Rochester State NY Zip Code 14642
