Job Title: PET/CT Technologist

Profession: Allied Health Specialty: PET/CT Technology

Duration: 19 weeks

Shift: 5x8.0 Hours per Shift: Varying shifts of either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in nuclear medicine technology

License: NYS License

Certifications: ARRT Certification with CE credits, BLS Certification, CT Certification

Must-Have: CT experience, PET/CT experience, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Description: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. Positions patients and performs imaging procedures. Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand the procedure. Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age-related needs and provision of care. Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. Orders, prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the clinical nuclear medicine rooms.
