CBIZ Talent Solutions is helping our construction client in their search for a hands-on Bookkeeper/Office Manager to manage day-to-day accounting and office operations. This role combines bookkeeping, billing, office administration, and light HR responsibilities in a collaborative, growing environment in Nassau County.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Track and close out jobs, ensuring costs are coded correctly
- Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple locations (NYC, Long Island, New York State, and California)
- Handle accounting for multiple small entities
- Coordinate billing activities and work closely with the AR team
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Manage insurance policies, renewals, and payments
- Oversee general office administration and daily operations
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
- Support light HR and administrative functions
Qualifications
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Comsense is a plus, ability to learn new software a must
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AIA billing
- Office management and HR support experience
- Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain it
Compensation range is between $75-$85K annually plus excellent benefits.
