Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical Surgical unit. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to treatment plans through skilled clinical assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize early signs of complications.
• Document patient progress and adjust care strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective patient care.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and health management.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license for Georgia or a Nursing Compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
• Proficiency in using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours) and adapt to rotating schedules.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills.
