Business Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with 1 to 3 years of litigation experience to join its Business Litigation practice group in Chicago, IL. This position offers an opportunity to engage in contested business litigation, including drafting and responding to discovery and motions, and representing clients in court and arbitration. Duties Draft complaints, answers, and affirmative defenses. Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and requests for production. Draft and respond to motions, such as motions to dismiss and for summary judgment. Represent parties at court appearances, trials, and evidentiary hearings. Participate in settlement conferences and mediations. Manage client interactions, including with corporate officers and financial institutions. Requirements 1-3 years of legal experience in general civil litigation. Active Illinois law license or ability to obtain promptly. Familiarity with Cook County Local Rules and electronic filing systems. Strong legal drafting, research, and organizational skills. Empathetic communication style for client interactions. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Illinois. Skills Proficient in legal research and drafting. Strong organizational and case management abilities.
