BookkeeperEastern Staffing & Recruiting is hiring a Bookkeeper for our client in Broome County, NY! In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health through precise data entry, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.ResponsibilitiesPerform bookkeeping duties including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheets regularly to maintain financial accuracy.Prepare detailed financial reports, including bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.Utilize various financial software and other accounting systems to process transactions efficiently.Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining compliance with controls and internal policies.Support payroll management activities and assist with payroll-related inquiries.Additional duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or related area.Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.Advanced MS Excel experience.Proven experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.Ability to prepare accounting schedules to support monthly and annual reports.Experience with monthly bank reconciliations.High level knowledge of adjusting journal entries and credit/debit principles.Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing.Ability to meet and maintain strict deadlines.Team-oriented and proactive work ethic.Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and competently orally and in writing.Able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.The estimated annual salary range for this position is $60,000 -$80,000 per hour, though a candidate's salary will be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
