Maintenance Manager

Description:The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all plant maintenance including facilities, utilities and operations to reduce downtime and assure peak plant efficiencies. Will direct all capital engineering design and projects to completion and work with appropriate vendors. This position will also have direct responsibility for the Maintenance team and their performance. This role has a responsibility for ensuring both food safety and quality of all products manufactured at Anita’s Mexican Foods.Reports to: Plant ManagerBack-Up: Maintenance SupervisorPosition Responsabilities:Select, supervise, develop, and build the capabilities of the maintenance teamEnsure maintenance support is available as needed and service calls and machinery repairs are completed in a timely manner.Monitor and evaluate all equipment systems for the manufacturing group and make necessary changes for continuous production improvements.Administer and support the plant Preventative Maintenance program and train personnel on the program while maintaining its operating effectiveness.Maintain ongoing training programs in all areas of manufacturing maintenance and assist in developing new programs that will improve productivity, quality, and safety.Remain aware and trained on all technical advancements in the area of responsibilityEstablish maintenance programs and procedures directed at stabilizing and improving machine operation and output.Implement Lean manufacturing across all shifts to elevate site performance.Integrates hygiene standards with packing equipment design.Lead troubleshooting activities related to equipment failures, quality problems or environmental exceedances.Assists in the development of plant capital expenditures and repairs budgets and maintains expenditures within authorized budgets.Strategic management over PLC troubleshooting and programming responsibilities.Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of current practices and technology related to packaging and tortilla manufacturingBe acquainted with environmental regulations and ensure compliance with all operational permits.Drive, model, champion and support desired plant culture, vision, team-based structure, and skill-based pay for performance systemInvestigates the condition of buildings, equipment and grounds, and recommends improvements in the facilities to ensure that needs are met.Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management and project scheduling skills.Ability to lead teams and achieve results through resources.Follow Anita’s Mexican Foods’ safety procedures and Good Manufacturing PracticesMay be assigned other work as deemed necessaryMust have complete understanding of PLC and logic controls for high-speed operating equipment.Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA safety regulations, EPA, AQMD regulationsAbility to rotate shift based on need of the department.Forklift experience.Weekend work when scheduled.Must be able to fill out reports.Own tools required.Must have stainless steel sanitary welding experience to include (MIG STICK TIG).Ability to perform many other needed tasks as needed.Physical Demands & PPE:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:Stand and walk for extended periodsWalk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floorsTwisting, turning, kneeling, stooping and bending most of the dayMay be required to lift up to 50 lbs.Exposure to spices (allergens) including but not limited to soy and wheatExposure to high noise levels and high heat environmentPPE - Slip resistant shoes, hair and beard net, safety glasses and ear plugs are required in the food manufacturing work areas, gloves are recommended.Training (All checked boxes, Training will be provided as needed)(Please check applicable boxes)SQF HACCP Industry X Forklift DriverGMP Food Safety & Security X Emergency Preparedness OtherPerson Responsible for FOOD SAFETY & SECURITY(Specify level of responsibility)High X Medium LowPerson Responsible for FOOD QUALITY(Specify level of responsibility)High Medium LowCore Values – at Anita’s our core values of knowledge, creativity, courage, honesty, accountability, competency, and safety, guide every aspect of our operations, ensuring excellence and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:Anita’s Mexican Foods is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
