Lead Senior Structural Engineer

Job DescriptionLong-term contract in Birmingham, AL. Very competitive pay, time and a half for OT, Mob/Demob, and strong per diem. Join this fast-growing design engineering firm (will double in size in the next 18 months), supporting the design of simple-cycle gas turbine plants. remote options available remote options available Requirements: B.S. degree in structural engineering or similar 8–15+ years in structural design engineering for power generation or heavy industrial Background in EPC project environments Design experience with reinforced concrete, structural steel. Experience with structural analysis software (GTStrudl, ANSYS, etc.) Ensure compliance with AISC, ACI, ASCE, and local codes Background in mentoring junior engineers PE License a plus, not required Responsibilities: Serve as a Lead Structural Design Engineer for simple cycle power generation projects Create and review calculations, drawings, and models; lead design reviews and technical discussions Mentor junior structural engineers Assist construction with field issues and design clarifications Ensure constructability and safety of all designs Support procurement with material specifications Participate in project scheduling and constructability reviews Skills needed:

• Strong knowledge of the International Building Code and related standards (ASCE, AISC,ACI).
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and interpreting results.
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit & Navisworks).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
