Work Environment

The Pediatric Physical Therapist will work onsite in a home care facility setting, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for patients and their families. With a standard workweek from Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week from 9 AM to 5 PM, this position provides a structured schedule that allows for clinical focus and work-life balance. You will be supported by a team of professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physical therapist assistants, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pediatric physical therapy evaluations to assess a child's movement abilities, strength, and coordination.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, addressing neurological, orthopedic, and developmental conditions.
• Utilize evidence-based techniques and methodologies to ensure effective interventions and optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate families on home exercise programs, treatment strategies, and progress tracking to promote continuity of care outside the therapy sessions.
• Collaborate actively with a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring well-rounded and cohesive care for each child.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with practice standards and insurance regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to refine your skills and keep abreast of industry advancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at Vital Rehabilitation, you will primarily work with children and adolescents facing challenges related to physical development. This may include patients recovering from injuries, those with congenital conditions, or individuals experiencing difficulties due to developmental milestones. Your role will be crucial in helping to improve their functional movement, enhance their quality of life, and support their journey towards independence.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; Master's or Doctoral degrees are preferred.
• A valid Physical Therapy License in Virginia and current CPR certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with a commitment to evidence-informed practice.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans that align with best practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for effective communication with children, families, and other healthcare providers.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
