Details Med/Surg Oncology Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital setting Rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), reviewed every 4-week scheduling period Patient population includes soft tissue malignancy patients receiving chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and symptom management Continuous cardiac monitoring required related to chemotherapy administration Patient ratio of 1:4 Uses B450 GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of current RN acute care experience in the specialty, consistently worked within the last 12 months Epic EMR experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Oncology experience preferred but not required Skills required: interpretation of dysrhythmias, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, IV starts, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide oncology med/surg telemetry nursing care with a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention Chemotherapy administration and port access/management are key daily responsibilities Additional preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, PCA management, and insulin drip titration Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice encouraged, though prior travel experience is not required Mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any location within the system RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less American Traveler Job ID P-750776.
