Details Palliative care unit focused on symptom management for patients with serious illness, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) May be scheduled for a 12D/N rotating contract with shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity level Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required, must be current and within the same specialty Acute care experience must be consistent within the last 12 months Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care Teaching hospital experience preferred Additional Information Provide symptom management and quality of life care for patients undergoing treatment for serious illness 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system Local candidates accepted at the same rate RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines First-time travelers will be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-745581.
