Details Cancer hospital Med/Surg Oncology-Telemetry unit Night shift, 3x12-hour rotating schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) May be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week period Patient population includes soft tissue malignancy patients receiving chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and symptom management Continuous cardiac monitoring required for chemotherapy administration Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention Patient ratio of 1:4 Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Uses B450 GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN acute care experience required, current within the last 12 months and in the applied specialty Epic EMR experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience accessing and managing ports Arterial line management experience Blood product administration experience Central line and PICC line care/management experience IV start and IV therapy/phlebotomy skills Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management Interpretation of ABGs Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management preferred Tracheostomy care/management skills PCA and insulin drip titration experience preferred Chemotherapy administration experience preferred Oncology experience preferred but not required Teaching hospital experience preferred 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care to oncology patients with comorbidities and complex symptom management needs Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice encouraged First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to state requirements American Traveler Job ID P-746274.
