Details Work on a Med/Surg Oncology-Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital setting 16-week assignment on a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM for night shifts) Care for oncology patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, soft tissue malignancy diagnostics, symptom management, and comorbidity management Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention Patient ratio of 1:4 Uses B450 monitors with GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department staffing needs Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with current acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months Epic EMR experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management, and ABG interpretation Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, oncology and chemotherapy administration, telemetry monitoring, and PCA medications required Teaching hospital experience preferred Oncology experience preferred but not required Previous travel experience preferred Additional Information Provide oncology and telemetry nursing care including chemotherapy administration, cardiac monitoring, and symptom management for patients with soft tissue malignancies and comorbidities Come with a willingness to learn and grow your nursing practice 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract; those outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-742164.
