Imagine a career that not only gives you a voice to share but also empowers others to discover their voices. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the captivating coastal city of Port St. Lucie, your role transcends traditional therapy. You will play a fundamental part in transforming lives, helping individuals of all ages overcome communication and swallowing challenges, fostering self-confidence, and cultivating interpersonal connectionsfrom toddlers articulating their first words to seniors regaining their independence.
This position offers a unique chance to make an impact across diverse populations, seamlessly blending outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through the use of standardized assessments and observational techniques.
Craft customized treatment plans tailored to meet both short-term objectives and long-term needs in communication, cognition, or swallowing.
Deliver individual speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
Educate patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions.
Provide supportive inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
Keep accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Stay abreast of advancements in the field via ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across all ages, with comprehensive knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills for engaging effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in adjusting therapy methods to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and all required documentation.
Competitive salary reflecting your experience and qualifications.
Flexible working arrangements designed to achieve a healthy work-life balance with diverse caseload opportunities.
Potential to develop expertise in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative team environment focused on quality care and lifelong learning.
In this rewarding position, you won't simply provide therapy; you will become an essential part of a mission focused on reviving voices, enhancing communication, and creating joy through the power of understanding.
Work alongside compassionate clinicians who treat each other like family within a supportive atmosphere that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Every patient has a unique story, and we trust you to help shape that narrative with your expertise.
