Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions targeting aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless care integration.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage progress outside the therapy setting.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring uninterrupted care throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Maintain precise documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continued education and collaborative peer interactions.
Educational Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Required Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting the position.
