The Company's proprietary genome engineering platform enables extensive, multiplex gene edits to remove key biological barriers, add protective human transgenes, and inactivate endogenous retroviruses. EGEN-2784, a genetically engineered porcine kidney, is the Company's lead program and is currently being evaluated in a multi-patient Expanded Access study at MGH. eGenesis is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.POSITION SUMMARYeGenesis, Inc is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to execute the day-to-day functions during a pivotal period of growth. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process. This highly visible role will use strong organizational skills and attention to detail to identify and implement operational decisions with accounting implications. The ideal candidate combines strong technical GAAP knowledge with hands-on execution, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and is energized by building scalable processes from the ground up. This is a full-time role based in Cambridge, MA.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn the end-to-end financial close process, including general ledger, accounts payables, and accruals, delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAPAccount for R&D expenses, clinical trial accruals and prepaids, and CRO vendor arrangements, coordinating closely with clinical and operations teams to estimate accrualsHelp design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in preparation for SOX compliance and public-company requirementsSupport preparation and maintenance of financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring disclosures are accurate, complete, and audit-readyManager Senior Accountant, fostering a high-performance team environmentDesign, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment appropriate for a company operating under public company accounting standardsManage NetSuite as the system of record, partnering with FP&A on chart of accounts governance, reporting configuration, and process improvementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experiencePublic company accounting experience preferred, including demonstrated ownership of monthly close process under public company reporting timelinesBiotech or life sciences industry experience required; familiarity with clinical-stage accounting (CRO accrual methodology, collaboration agreement) strongly preferredHands-on proficiency with NetSuite requiredExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detailAbility to work independently, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-changing environmentBase pay range for this job is $120,000 - $154,000.
