IAPMO R&T Lab is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Laboratory Test Technician II to support the day-to-day operations of our laboratory. This position is responsible for preparing plumbing products for testing, conducting product testing according to applicable standards, documenting results, preparing draft test reports, assisting with laboratory equipment and test setups, and supporting the technical team.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, comfortable working with testing equipment, and able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish .

What You’ll Do

• Prepares plumbing products, conduct testing outlined in applicable product test standards (including some Mexican standards), and document all test data in both English and Spanish as required.
• Conducts engineering calculations such as flow rate, load test and opening area on fittings.
• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and written correspondence, including correspondence with Spanish-speaking agencies or vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and standards preferred.
• Technical training in a similar field preferred.
• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish and English, due to testing and documentation for Mexican standards and communication with Spanish-speaking auditors.
• Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word procession applications (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on laboratory position. Candidates must be able to:

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Lift and exert force of up to 40 pounds.
• Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stretch, climb, and balance as required.
• Perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled laboratory environment, with occasional duties in varying outdoor weather conditions.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

The salary range for this position will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.

Hourly Rate of Pay :$23.17-$29.52
