Surgical Coordinator

Surgical SchedulerUnder the direction of the medical providers, this position's primary function is to schedule surgical procedures. The responsibilities of the Surgical Scheduler include: scheduling surgical procedure in ORSOS, scheduling all pre- and post-operative appointments and obtaining authorization. The Surgical Scheduler works closely with the clinical team, medical providers and hospital staff to provide timely care for our patients.Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS Gastroenterology BinghamtonPrimary Work Shift: DayRegular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Compensation Range: $17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experienceEducation/ExperienceMinimum Required:High School Graduate or equivalentTwo (2) years' experience working in healthcare OR Two (2) years' experience working in customer serviceProficient PC skillsKnowledge of Medical TerminologyPreferred:AAS in an accredited MOA program or equivalentKnowledge of insurance referral processBasic computer skills; HER, Excel, Microsoft OfficePrevious experience in OR SchedulingLicense/CertificationPreferred:Current drivers license
