Job Title: RN - L&D Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of current hospital L&D RN experience License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN Description: The unit has 26 beds and a staffing level of 112 personnel. On day shifts, there is 1 CNC (Team Leader), 14 nurses, 2-3 surgical technicians, and 2 unit clerks. Night shifts have 1 CNC (Team Leader), 12 nurses, 2 surgical technicians, and 1 unit clerk. Patient ratios are as follows: 1:1 for high-risk labor and c-sections, 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, and PP on magnesium, and 1:3 for post-partum magnesium with no baby. Outpatient procedures are also accommodated. The unit utilizes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN (GE) monitors with Meditech/CPN as the EMR system. Typical procedures performed include c-sections and inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring. Candidates should possess high-risk labor and circulating C-section experience. The ideal candidate is compassionate, caring, friendly, patient, and solutions-oriented. Teamwork and collaboration are essential, and staff self-scheduling options enhance job satisfaction. The leadership team is supportive and actively engaged on the floor as needed. Many tenured nurses with 20-40 years of experience contribute to a rich learning environment. New programs and technology enhance the nursing experience and support for residency programs.
