Law firm Billing Rates Coordinator - Philadelphia- Hybrid schedule - $80-85k
Prior/current law firm/legal industry experience is required!
The Billing Rates Coordinator will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate attorney and staff billing rates. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of legal billing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rate Maintenance:
- Update and maintain accurate billing rates for all attorneys and staff.
- Ensure timely updates to reflect rate changes, promotions, or new hires.
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments to verify rate accuracy.
- Rate Analysis:
- Analyze historical billing data to identify trends and potential rate adjustments.
- Prepare reports on rate utilization and profitability.
- Assist in developing rate strategies and guidelines.
- Billing System Management:
- Maintain and update the firm's billing system with accurate rate information.
- Troubleshoot system issues related to billing rates.
- Work with IT to implement system enhancements as needed.
- Client Billing:
- Review and approve client invoices to ensure accurate billing rates are applied.
- Collaborate with billing teams to resolve any rate-related discrepancies.
- Assist in responding to client inquiries regarding billing rates.
- Compliance:
- Stay informed of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to billing.
- Ensure adherence to firm policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits and reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in legal billing or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of legal billing practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal billing software (e.g., Elite, 3E, Aderant, etc.).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
