Accountant Trainee
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accountant Trainee performs the more technical Institution Support and Incarcerated Person (IP) Trust accounting functions. The Accountant Trainee is responsible for analyzing computer generated reports including distribution and storage of data processed and used internally for control purposes, keeping and reviewing manual/computer financial records. This position may also be called upon to serve in an acting position in the absence of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor). College transcripts must be submitted with application by the final filing date. All applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed.
Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receives a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027.
